Caloti is designed to help with separating local discovery from Boost-style commission.
If someone books your barbershop, nail salon, hair salon, or beauty service through Caloti, Caloti does not charge per staff member and does not take a cut from the appointment. The advantage is not just a lower number; it is less uncertainty around whether a first visit becomes a commission event.
Booksy South Africa pricing lists a monthly subscription plus a charge for each additional staff member. Booksy South Africa Boost help says Boost has no monthly fee, but when Booksy finds a new client, the business pays a one-time 40% commission for that client's first visit. On a 500 first visit, that commission would be 200. Public Booksy reviews include complaints about Boost attribution on bookings users felt came from their own traffic, so Caloti should own the simpler position.
| Question | Caloti | Booksy |
|---|---|---|
| Where Caloti may be a better fit | No first-visit booking commission and no staff-based platform charge. | Boost can make a new client first visit a commission event. |
| Pain point this avoids | Your own local reputation, website, and social traffic do not create a Caloti commission question. | Boost attribution can be confusing when salons also send clients to a Booksy booking link. |
| Proof point | Caloti says no per-staff charges, setup fees, feature add-ons, or commission per booking. | Booksy South Africa publishes subscription and per-additional-staff pricing, and Boost help describes 40% first-visit commission. |
| Best fit | Salons that want to be discovered without first-visit commission or staff-based pricing. | Businesses that want Booksy software and are comfortable using Boost as paid acquisition. |
Who should choose each?
Caloti may fit if you want local discovery without a Boost-style commission layer. Booksy may fit if its business app, customer marketplace, and paid acquisition model are worth the subscription and first-visit economics.
